How do I configure my Windows firewall with IncrediMail?

You may need to configure your Windows Firewall with IncrediMail. For instructions on how to do so, please find your Windows version and follow the directions given:

 

Windows Xp

To set your IncrediMail to work with your Windows XP Firewall, do the following:

  1. Click 'Start', then 'Settings' and finally 'Control Panel'.

  2. In the Control Panel, click on 'Windows Firewall'.
  3. From here click on the 'Exceptions' tab and click 'Add Program'.

    Please Note:
    Windows may require Administrator Password or Confirmation to continue.
  4. Click on 'Browse' and go to the following location on your computer:

    C:\Program Files\IncrediMail\Bin

  5. In the folder you have opened, add the following processes from the list:
    • ImApp.exe
    • ImNotfy.exe
    • ImpCnt.exe
    • IncMail.exe
  6. Click 'OK'.

Windows Vista

To set your IncrediMail to work with your Windows Vista Firewall, do the following:

  1. Click the Windows 'Start' menu and then 'Control Panel'.

  2. In the Control Panel, click 'Security' and then choose 'Windows Firewall'.
  3. Now click 'Allow a program through Windows Firewall' and then click 'Change settings'.

    Please Note:
    Windows may require Administrator Password or Confirmation to continue.
  4. Please mark the checkbox next to the following processes in the list:
    • IncMail.exe
    • IMApp.exe
    • ImNotfy.exe
    • ImpCnt.exe
  5. Click 'OK'.

Windows 7

To set your IncrediMail to work with your Windows 7 Firewall, do the following:

  1. Click the Windows 'Start' menu and then 'Control Panel'.

  2. Type 'Firewall' in the Search, and click 'Windows Firewall'.
  3. Now click 'Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall' and click 'Change settings'.

    Please Note: Windows may require Administrator Password or Confirmation to continue.
  4. Please mark the checkbox next to the following processes in the list:
    • IncMail.exe
    • IMApp.exe
    • ImNotfy.exe
    • ImpCnt.exe
  5. Click 'OK'.
